The number of tourists buying tickets to Hanoiduring the city’s millennium birthday is rising sharply. Many agencies ofVietnam Airline (VNA) and Jetstar Pacific Airlines (JPA) said that flightsdeparting from HCM City to Hanoi from October 3rd were full, even businesstickets on some flights of VNA were sold out.­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­

Travel agents can not book more rooms andairfares for tourists registering tours to the North.  Mrs. Doan Thi Thanh Tra, Head of the Marketing Office of Saigontourist saidthat recently, a large number of tourists continuously asked to reserve roomsand airfares but the company declined because hotels with three stars and morein Hanoi were fully booked.

Other hotels still have rooms but prices werehigher than usual. Representative from Vietravel said that many touristsregistered tours just few hours before the celebration of the millenniumbirthday, but the company can not satisfy the need due to lack of airfares androoms.

A survey of travel agents showed that tourregistration just before the anniversary increased sharply. However, due tolimitation in rooms and airfares VNA and JPA can offer, the sudden demand oftourists can not be met.

For tours to the North, due to lack of rooms,tourists can stay 1-2 nights in Hanoi to take part in events during the 1,000thanniversary of Thang Long – Hanoi.

Hanoi, Hoi An in top 10great destinations of Asia tourism

Both Hanoi capitaland Hoi An ancient town of Vietnam have voted for top 10perfect destinations of Asia by online travel magazine Smart Travel Asia (HongKong).

Theancient town is even rated higher than the capital, Hoi An is at 5 and Hanoi is at 7. Theposition of Hoi An doesn’t change in comparison with last year. In the otherside, Hanoi hasgone up from out of top 10 last year to the 7th.

Moreover, there are 4 names from Vietnamin the 25 best resorts and hotels: Nam Hải (Hoi An), SofitelPalace (Dalat), Princess D’AnNamResort&Spa (Mui Ne) and Sofitel Metropole (Hanoi). In the top 25 good trading hotels, Vietnam have 2: Park Hayatt (HCM city) and Sofitel Metropole (Hanoi).
